Everything in Elder Petros's teaching stands on the Inner Prayer. What holds it up underneath is Orthodoxy, and inside Orthodoxy one name above the rest: Saint Gregorios Palamas, carried forward by the Kollyvades.

He built something complex and oversimplified at the same time. I have never found a better way to say it.

Where it becomes practical is the nervous system. As a physician I understand its role in the physical body. I also understand it as the bridge where the material world meets the etheric states.

The existence of the ether is in Saint Gregorios Palamas, in the Philokalia. An ousia, a substance, that abolishes the void and fills the whole universe. Astrophysics uses the very same concept and calls it plasma.

He would not separate the two. Not theology on one side and medicine on the other.

At the far end there is a state he called whole-consciousness, and I cannot describe it. I can say only what he said of those who came to stand before the Uncreated Light: through years of practice they had prepared a DNA able to receive it.
