As the years of practice accumulate, more energy becomes available. I am careful about what he said next.

The Fathers, those who know the essence, neither spend that power nor reproduce it. The power that exists in the universe flows within them, and according to how far they have come, they are called into collaboration with the decisions of the Paraclete.

Called into collaboration. Not put in charge.

He pressed this further on the mountain. When everything happens without specifications, he said, and without your expecting anything, the Paraclete genuinely shows the essence. Reflect on that and you will see the deeper meaning of dispassion.

Then, drily, to a man who had spent decades in Eastern systems:

The practice is yours to do. The result is not yours to arrange.
